Daniel Wong practised law as an Advocate & Solicitor about three (3) years before joining Kadanjoe Asia Pacific Group of Companies. He was trained and employed by a prominent legal firm in Malaysia. His legal experience encompasses Islamic Finance, Ship Financing, Loan Restructuring, Syndicated Loans and Banking & Finance. Daniel also holds a Master in Accounting, Management and Finance from Bradford University School of Management and a Diploma in Islamic Banking (IIBI). He is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner (London). He also holds a Master in Law (LLM) with commendation from Northumbria University, UK.

Ruth Ling is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute since 1983 and holds the professional designatory description of “Chartered Insurance Practitioner”. Ruth’s area of practice includes Fire Insurance, Motor Insurance, Employee Benefits Insurance, Contractors’ All Risks Insurance, Workmen Compensation, Group Term Life Insurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance.

Ruth is our Underwriting & Operations Director. She is a veteran in the insurance industry specifically in the areas of Employees Benefit Scheme and claim handling services in all classes of insurance.

Wong Wei Keong is a renowned marine specialist in the Malaysian market with over 40 years experience in the insurance industry having served in various capacity as an Insurance Broker/Consultant, Underwriter, Claims Handler, Technical Adviser and etc. Some of Malaysia’s top lawyers have asked for his advice in maritime, engineering and property, liability, P&I and aviation insurance claims. He has trained the staff of Bank Negara and other Banks/Organisations and has travelled nationwide to train all Etiqa Insurance agents on marine insurance. He was the technical advisor to a Hong Kong based Insurance Company. He has acted as Lloyd’s appointed coverholder and signatory for marine cargo risks up to US$3 Million anyone risk.

Wong’s area of practice includes Claims Handling, Marine Hull & Machinery Insurance, P & I Insurance, Industrial All Risks Insurance, Aviation Insurance, Machinery Breakdown Insurance, Business Interruption Insurance, Loss of Hire Insurance, Off-shore Insurance and Liabilities Insurance.

“Preliminaries

[11] Two witnesses gave evidence for the plaintiff and one for the defendant. The plaintiff’s evidence was consistent to show the bona fide of their claim and the steps which they have taken to ensure transparency as well as appropriate notice to the defendant. In addition the plaintiff’s witness, Mr Wong Wei Keong, a consultant and a chartered insurer, whose involvement was in assisting the plaintiff in his claim, was forthright and despite severe cross examination not shaken. His input in this case has in fact assisted the court to understand better the factual matrix of the case, issues and problems and the relevant policy terms. The same, I must say, was lacking in the evidence of the defendant.
